[ about ]

Would you know if the marketing team changed some URLs in the CMS and quietly broke half your links? Or if a certificate on a side project expires next Tuesday? A green "up" dot won't tell you either.

Oh Dear checks your site every minute from multiple locations worldwide. A second location verifies before we alert, so you don't get woken up by a false alarm. On top of uptime we crawl every page for broken links and mixed content, watch SSL certificates and DNS records, warn you before a domain expires, monitor cron jobs and scheduled tasks, check application health (queues, disk, cache) through an endpoint you expose, scan open ports, check DNS blocklists, and run Lighthouse daily.

When something breaks we notify you where your team already is: Slack, email, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, ntfy, or a plain webhook. You can also publish a status page on your own domain, and send clients a monthly report showing what you kept online.

There's a full REST API, an OpenAPI spec, and SDKs, so anything you can do in the interface you can script.

Pricing is flat per site, from 15 euro a month, with every check included. No add-ons, no per-check pricing, no sales call. Everything runs on EU infrastructure, we're GDPR-friendly, we'll sign a DPA, and we don't run third-party trackers.

Oh Dear was built in 2018 by Freek Van der Herten and Mattias Geniar, a developer and a sysadmin. Free for 10 days, no credit card required.
