[ about ]
Finder is a fast and lightweight file search tool for Windows that enables instant search of files, apps, folders, math expressions, and web queries directly from the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Space. Built with Rust and Tauri, it offers sub-millisecond retrieval across entire disk drives with a minimal resource footprint and instant indexing of millions of files.
It supports launching applications via fuzzy match, deep file indexing with real-time disk tracking, direct path jumps, inline math evaluations, and direct web searches. It requires administrator permissions initially to access NTFS Master File Table for efficient indexing but can fallback to standard scanning without it. The tool is highly customizable in hotkeys, UI colors, and layout, and operates fully offline except when explicitly performing web queries.
